There’s a moment when it’s real for both of you, like really real. It usually happens just after those immortal words “I now pronounce you husband and wife” - yeah it’s pretty real right about then.
As a documentary wedding photographer all I’m interested in throughout the whole day is the real stuff, because that’s what you’ll remember.
Without getting all psychological, there’s a direct link between being made to feel awkward (even slightly) and looking at pictures, or just looking at pictures of you and your closest simply caught in a moment (you relate to the latter much more and get greater pleasure from them)
So yeah, Documentary Wedding Photography is all about the moment and pictures that make you happy.
